Rural Health Transformation
The Commonwealth of Kentucky will receive funding through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Rural Health Transformation Fund. Kentucky will use the $212.9 million award over five years to help address the unique health challenges in rural parts of the state. Medicaid Advisory Committee and Beneficiary Advisory Council
Per federal rules, DMS has created a new Beneficiary Advisory Council (BAC) for current and former Medicaid members and their family or caregivers. Additionally, DMS has changed the Advisory Council for Medical Assistance to the Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC). The goal of these changes is to expand membership and to ensure more people with lived Medicaid experience have a voice in the program. Payment Error Rate Measurement RY 2026
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) kicked off the Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) RY 2026. The PERM program measures and reports improper payment rates in Medicaid and CHIP for each state every three years. This is not a "fraud rate" but rather a measurement of payments made that did not meet statutory, regulatory, or administrative requirements. Community Health for Improved Lives and Development (CHILD Waiver)
The Department for Medicaid Services (DMS) is implementing a new 1915(c) Home and Community Based Services waiver. The Community Health for Improved Lives and Development, or CHILD, waiver aims to keep individuals age 21 and younger with complex, multi-system needs safe, healthy, and as independent as possible within their communities and families. Anthem Managed Care Update
Anthem Kentucky Managed Care Plan, Inc. is no longer a Kentucky Medicaid managed care organization, effective Jan. 1, 2025. The Kentucky Medicaid Anthem MCO Transition webpage includes additional information for affected members.
