The Local Health Operations Branch provides guidance to the Kentucky local health departments (LHDs) in their daily administrative operation of and compliance with the preventive health services program. Our mission is to provide quality assistance and support to help LHDs efficiently operate.
The LHO Branch performs the following:
- Medical coding and documentation compliance reviews of the LHDs
- LHD claim investigations of reported Kentucky Medicaid and managed care organization errors in billing for preventive health services program. Note: LHDs are responsible for directly resolving claim issues related to Medicare and private/commercial insurances with their provider representatives.
- Management of approved LHD clinic health forms
- Management and assistance with proper completion of the Patient Encounter Form
- Review, coordination and authorization of security access requests to the LHD network system(s)
- Coordination of the LHD contract review process
- Management of the DPH website, division webpages and DPH intranet
