Out of Home Care (OOHC) Branch

​​​​​​The Department for Community Based Services (DCBS), Division of Protection and Permanency (DPP), ​​​​​​​Out of Home Care (OOHC) Branch focuses on children placed outside their home of origin and assists the Cabinet in achieving safety, permanency and well-being outcomes for children and families.

The OOHC Branch develops programs that support children in attaining permanency and stability in their lives. Services within the branch include foster care, private child care placements, kinship care and the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), which address children's placement needs. 

The OOHC Branch also develops standards of practice and services to support children and their famlies while children are placed in out of home care.
