The Household Summary Dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of SNAP participation at the household level. This dashboard offers insights into the distribution and financial aspects of SNAP benefits among households, allowing Citizen(s) to view current data and identify potential trends. The dashboard includes dynamic filter options to customize the view based on specific criteria.
Definitions
These definitions are sorted by question and are ordered as they appear in the dashboard.

1. SNAP benefits received in Kentucky for a given Month

Metric	Definition
Total Number of Active SNAP Households	The count of total number of active SNAP cases for a given month.
Average SNAP Household Size	Average number of individuals per household in SNAP cases. *Rounded to the nearest whole number.
Total SNAP Issuance for a Given Month	Total amount of SNAP benefits issued for a given month. Rounded to the nearest whole number. We will only consider regular monthly SNAP issuances.
Average Issuance per Household	The average benefit amount received per household for a given month. Rounded to the nearest whole number. We will consider all SNAP issuances for the month.
Number of Active SNAP Households	Count of active SNAP households by county displayed on a map of Kentucky.

2. Households receiving SNAP after a break in benefits

Metric	Definition
Households with a break from SNAP benefits for less than 1 year	Households that have returned to receiving benefits for a given month that have previously received benefits less than 1 year ago. *Returning households that had a break of at least 1 month from SNAP benefits.
Households with a break from SNAP benefits for 1 year or more	Households that have returned to receiving benefits for a given month that have previously received benefits less than 1 year ago.

3. Average Issuance Amount Per Household by Age Group

Metric	Definition
Average Issuance Amount by age group	Average amount of SNAP benefits given to households based on the age of the head of household. Rounded to the nearest whole number. We will only consider regular monthly SNAP issuances.

4. Average Issuance Amount Per Household by Size

Metric	Definition
Average Issuance Amount by size	Average amount of SNAP benefits given to households based on the size of the household. Rounded to the nearest whole number. We will only consider regular monthly SNAP issuances.

5. Number of households receiving SNAP benefits per Month

Metric	Definition
Number of households receiving SNAP benefits per Month	Count of SNAP households that are receiving benefits per month on a trend chart.

6. Total Amount of SNAP benefits issued per Month

Metric	Definition
Total Amount of SNAP benefits Issued per Month	Total amount of SNAP benefits issued per month on a trend chart. Rounded to the nearest whole number. We will consider all SNAP issuances for the month.

Filters

Filter	Description
Month Year	This gives the user an option to select the month and year in a Calendar Year for the data.
County of Residence	This gives the user an option to select the county for the data in Kentucky.
Reset Button	This gives the user an option to reset all the filters in the Household Summary Dashboard, returning the user back to the original/default view.
