The Department for Aging and Independent Living will host a public hearing to review the amended Kentucky State Plan on Aging prior to submission to the Administration for Community Living. The amendment is specific to the State Plan Goals and is required by the Older Americans Act new federal guidance. Upon approval by the Administration for Community Living, the updated plan will take effect and remain in effect through September 30th, 2028.
The public hearing will be on Monday, June 29th, 2026 at the CHFS Cafeteria beginning at 11:00 a.m. EST. Public Hearing Notice and Zoom link here.

The KY State Plan for Independent Living has been approved for 2025-2027.The Independent Living (IL) network in Kentucky, consisting of the state's Centers for Independent Living (CILs) and the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC), seeks to empower all Kentuckians with disabilities to live independently, direct their own lives, and participate fully in their communities.
