FATHERHOOD: IT IS FOR GOOD!
This theme is meant to convey multiple messages about where we are in this state relative to our thrust of standardizing fatherhood engagement and awareness.
1. Fatherhood IS GOOD for children and families. This is the need for an ongoing campaign to raise awareness around the empirically proven evidence that fathers help families and children thrive and move towards healthy life outcomes.
2. Fatherhood is Good for all sectors and systems (social services, child support, justice/corrections, healthcare, education, etc.) to consider as they plan and develop strategies, practices, policies, and procedures that seek to address challenges such as child well being, family safety, economic stability/employment, and other public health issues.
3. Fatherhood is FOR GOOD is intended to express the need to fully establish fatherhood engagement as a component in our practices across the state. It is here to stay and will be something we should consider in our approaches and practice from now on and hence forth.
4. Fatherhood is FOR GOOD is a message to our fathers we serve or seek to serve. This conveys that being a father is an ongoing responsibility and honor. Fatherhood is not situational, intermittent, or temporary, but rather ongoing. Constancy and consistency of emotional and economic support towards one's children, family, and community will be the message. Fatherhood is forever.
