The Kentucky Infants Safe and Strong (KISS) award program recognizes hospitals taking steps to implement evidence-based practices to reduce infant mortality risks and to earn Baby-Friendly Hospital designation by Baby Friendly USA.
KISS awards up to five stars to hospitals. Hospitals earn a star by implementing one infant safety step and two steps toward Baby Friendly. To earn five stars, a hospital must complete all 10 steps to Baby Friendly status and implement a least five of the most critical infant safety measures.
