Welcome to the Office of Inspector General, Division of Audits and Detection home page.

This site was developed to provide greater awareness for employees of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and citizens of Kentucky regarding the responsibilities and duties of the Inspector General's Division of Audits and Detection and the audit process and to provide links to related resources.

The division, on behalf of the Cabinet secretary, provides the Cabinet an independent appraisal and internal audit function designed to enhance accountability and help members of the cabinet management team perform their jobs effectively and efficiently.

In addition to conducting audit and consulting services for the cabinet, OIG audit staff also assists other OIG units by providing forensic accounting and participating in reviews, studies and evaluations as needed.

The division also assists with cases requiring investigative accounting by the state Attorney General's Office, U.S. Attorney's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
