Mission: Kentucky Public Health preparedness enhances the capacity of the Kentucky Department for Public Health, local public health departments and the health care system to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health serves as the lead agency for Emergency Support Function #8-Public Health and Medical Services (ESF 8).
ESF 8 is responsible for preparing for, responding to and recovering from an emergency or disaster in coordination with local, state and federal partners.

Get your family prepared this month by creating a disaster plan and an emergency supply kit.
Don't forget to plan for individuals in your family with special needs. This includes children, seniors, people with functional and access needs and your pets.
