Other Laboratory and X-ray
This provider type (86) can only provide x-ray services, not laboratory services. X-ray services (including x-rays, ultrasounds, computer-assisted tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging) is limited to procedures provided by a facility licensed to provide radiological services.
Criteria to participate as a Kentucky Medicaid x-ray provider must include the following:
- Medicare participation.
- State license to perform radiological services
- Have a physician director.
X-ray services do not require prior authorization but must be medically necessary.
