All nomination sponsors have been notified of the judging results for the 2007 Governor's Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Service. The Heart Line is going green. To save some trees and take advantage of more immediate and cost-effective technology, KCCVS will upgrade to an electronic newsletter. To receive publication notices for each issue of The Heart Line, readers must sign up for our e-mail distribution list.

Effective immediately, the KCCVS has one AmeriCorps VISTA opening left for an individual willing to commit to a year of service increasing the capacity of faith- and community-based nonprofit organizations. AmeriCorps VISTA recruits will engage in volunteer recruitment, fiscal and in-kind resource development and disaster preparedness activities.

Benefits include a modest stipend, health insurance, childcare (based on eligibility), training and educational award upon successful completion of service.
