Organization and Structure

The Department for Human Support Services consists of two divisions and one commission, all of which provide vital programs and services to Kentucky families.

Division of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Services (CADV) - was created to heighten public awareness of the social, economic and personal impact of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault. The division works to enhance the criminal justice and human service systems' response to the needs of victims of these crimes.

Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC) - provides administrative support, technical assistance and training to local school-based centers which assist academically at-risk students and their families. The mission of the FRYSCs is to enhance student academic success by helping minimize or eliminate non-cognitive barriers to learning.

Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service (KCCVS) - responds to personal and community needs by administering service programs, most notably, Kentucky's AmeriCorps. KCCVS helps support these programs through recruiting, grants, awards and special initiatives. The commission also administers the state's Volunteer Insurance program and the Governor's Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Service.
