Child Protective Services (CPS)

Child Protective Services specialists work with regional staff on intake and investigation issues, consult on policy issues, conduct case reviews in local offices and track child fatalities. CPS staff also monitors the Children’s Justice Act grant, the Citizens Review Panel grant and the Access and Visitation grant. Kinship Care consultations and standards of procedure issues are also addressed in this section.

Staff consult with local and regional offices on specialized investigations, including review of prior case investigations to ensure adherence to standards and policy, and tracks safe haven incidents.
